Accommodation in Norway The poet Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson was one of the first to sing the praises of Lofoten’s holiday pleasures, and he was a very well-travelled man, one who had seen a great deal. In Lofoten he saw more, "mirages that turn floating mountains topsy-turvy ahead of you and behind your back, while whales are at play and birds are a’shrieking." Times have changed and the number of tourists has multi-plied since Bjørnstjerne Bjørnson visited Lofoten in 1869. The fishermen’s huts, which once were used during the Lofoten fishing season, but which have since been adapted to modern concepts of comfort, are popular amongst visitors. Whether you would like to go on "rorbu" camping, or spending the nights in a hotel or a tent - we have it. The infrastructure is well developed, and the numerous offers at hand in Lofoten - activities, accommodation, and restaurants - indicate that a new business trend is maturing.
