Things to Keep in Mind / Useful Extras
Migration Routes & Timing: Whales often migrate between feeding grounds (usually colder, abundant in plankton / krill) and breeding grounds (warmer waters). So if you time a visit wrongly, many might be far out to sea.
Species Differences: Some whales (e.g. blue whales) are more solitary and harder to spot; others (like humpbacks, right whales) tend to approach closer and are more visible.
Viewing Methods: Boat tours, shore / cliff-views, sometimes aerial perspectives. Some places yield sightings from the shore; others require going out further.
Conservation & Regulation: Many whale-watching areas have guidelines/regulations to protect whales, limit boat proximity, ensure sustainable tourism.
